Yageo Held Ceremonies of New Factory Groundbreaking and Joint R&D Centers Grand Opening

Yageo Corporation (TAIEX: 2327 TW) today grandly held the groundbreaking ceremony for its third plant in Kaohsiung Dafa Industrial Park and the grand opening ceremony of Yageo Group-National Cheng Kung University Joint R&D Centers, respectively. The ceremonies were hosted by Pierre Chen, founder and Chairman of Yageo Group. Several important and special guests were invited, including Chi-Mai Chen, mayor of Kaohsiung City, Mei-Hua Wang, the Minister of Ministry of Economic Affairs, Dr. Huey-Jen Su, the President of National Cheng Kung University, Jang-Hwa Leu, the Director-General of Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA, Chih-Wei Chiu, Chih-Chieh Hsu and Tai-Hua Lin, the legislator of Legislative Yuan, and Emile Chang, the Director-General of Department of Investment Services, MOEA to witness Yageo’s expanded investment in Taiwan with high-end production bases and global R&D centers by implementing the company’s visionary strategy “rooted in Taiwan and deploy around the globe".

 

Considering to meet the needs of global customers and the growth of long-term orders, Yageo has continued to expand the production capacity of high-end products in Taiwan. In addition to its third factory in Kaohsiung Dafa Industrial Park, the company will also expand investment in its current factories located in Kaohsiung Dashe, Nanzih, and Dafa district, to respond and to reduce the potential impact of the global trade dispute and pandemic. Furthermore, to ensure the company's long-term growth in business and to build up sustainable strength, Yageo Group and National Cheng Kung University established joint R&D centers by combining with project plans of the Ministry of Science and Technology, to invest in the development of advanced passive components and strengthen the cooperation of industry practices and academic talents. The company will keep expanding its global footprint and upgrading its R&D and production facilities in Taiwan by consolidating the group’s expertise in key electronic components from Yageo, KEMET, Pulse, Tong Hsing, Chilisin, and Kaimei.

 

Yageo will continue to strengthen its operational fundamentals and core competence, including leading positions in high-end technology, global market presence, and efficient customer service. The company will also focus its end applications on high-end 5G technology, automotive, industrial, aerospace, and medical segments to provide a full range of high-quality services to serve its global customers.
